When I started writing a blog, about one water dam near my house, I never thought that it would have much visibility. I started without any financial goal. My only goal was to show to the others one of the things that I like and interesting facts about the dam. Despite the non-frequent publications (approx. One per month), the blog quickly started to have visits and started getting messages from a lot of people for several of reasons. Today it has dozens of daily visits and almost 5000 followers on facebook.
One thing that many people work for, to have a large audience who follows their publications and work, I got in the blog without having that intention. And what was the secret? Now looking back I see that I managed to reach a group of people that have something in common and not any communication about it. In a simple way, a necessity was satisfied and this explains the high number of readers and followers of the blog.
Many times you hear people saying that “it began as a hobby but now is your business and job”. This is because, not only people work hard in what they like to do but also because without realizing, they supply a market need for a certain group of people.
It’s not always necessary big marketing strategies to be successful and reach a high number of people. If we do not forget the need to supply or create a supply need and to differentiate ourselves, people will eventually come.
